Patient advisor Jean, from our Newcastle clinic, joined Optical Express in 2001 and has described her role here as “being a career of a lifetime”.
Fed up of her role in retail and the same daunting day in day out tasks, Jean was seeking a career that challenged her, enabling her to learn and grow.
Jean “enjoys every moment of it” when she spoke of her role as Patient Advisor at Optical Express. Her favourite part of her role is “interacting with patients”, as she is a pivotal part of every patient’s journey that attends the Newcastle clinic.
Jean spoke of the development of the technology in the clinics since joining Optical Express and how advanced they have become. With over £500 million invested in our state of the art clinics and advanced technology our teams get to work with market leading technology. Jean commented, “the money that David Moulsdale has invested in Optical Express is amazing.”
Optical Express offer unrivalled training and support to all its employees. Jean joined Optical Express as an Optical Assistant and then took up the opportunity to join the “laser side of the business”. Jean said that she has “developed as the business has developed over the period of 20 odd years.” Other training opportunities that Optical Express offer is the Independent Prescribing (IP) course which is fully funded and supported by Optical Express.
