Job Title – Practice Education Facilitator

Location – Midlands area

Salary – £45,000 plus benefits

The Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) role is an integral part of the Clinical Development infrastructure across Optical Express. The PEF role, in collaboration with senior clinical colleagues will contribute effectively to the clinical learning environment through the provision of support, educational and development activities.

The PEF will assist in strategically planning the delivery of safe patient care provision of the Theatre service, in line with business needs, as well as providing clear direction and leadership to all theatre staff, whilst supporting the design and implementation of initiatives within Optical Express.

The job holder will also have responsibility for ensuring full compliance with Clinical and Surgical directives for the company, whilst maintaining regulatory standards.

The purpose of the Practice Education Team is to co-create learning and development opportunities with service, in order to address essential priorities for the Optical Express nurses and healthcare support staff.

Main responsibilities

  • Inform the Clinical Services Director of any operational or governance issues within the
    theatre department, to allow any further action to be taken.
  • Ensure that pathways are delivered to the standard and quality expected by the Group and
    external regulatory bodies.
  • Support the Senior Clinical and Clinical Governance teams in the development, design and
    ongoing training delivery of Directives, Policies and Procedures which focus on ensuring the
    highest level of clinical care is delivered to patients.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement which focuses on the provision of high
    quality, safe and effective care.
  • Develop appropriate mechanisms for accessing the views and facilitating the involvement of
    service users and carers in the development and delivery of clinical services.
  • Contribute towards cohesive partnership working between the Independent Sector, NHS and
    Further and Higher Education Institutions (HEI) across the different UK jurisdictions.
  • Ensure the development, upskill and validation of both new and experienced clinical
    colleagues.
